Since the 1850s, the humble colorful paper bag has been subtly transporting goods and lunch to go. In its early days, paper bags were innovative and revolutionary, and the breakthrough left competing inventors scrambling to create machines that could make them. Nearly two centuries later, the colorful paper bag wholesale has stood the test of time. We rarely stop to consider their humbly innovative, practical presence. But this extremely simple design, made from simple, natural materials, has come to play an indispensable role in our modern lives.
The first paper bags were basically flat shapes that are still widely produced today. Our flat bags are the modern descendants of this original ancestor, and they're perfect for pastries and countless other products that aren't too big or bulky.

Flat paper bags do have their limitations, however. That's why pioneer inventor Margaret Knight was inspired to develop a machine that could produce flat bags. This innovation greatly expanded the capabilities of paper bags, allowing them to stack and carry larger, heavier loads.
Flat paper bags are still ubiquitous today. We have a wide selection for almost anything you want brown paper bags to do.
For her efforts, Knight is believed to be the first woman to receive a U.S. patent. But she was forced to fight for it. The villain of the early paper bag history was Charles Annan, who tried to steal Knight's machine design. Despite being poor, Knight used her limited funds to hire a patent lawyer and fight back. Annan's case rested on his contention that a woman could not have developed the machine. But Knight presented evidence of her skills and process (the machine took six months to develop), and the court ruled in her favor.

Paper bags had little competition until the 1960s when a new type of bag came along - the plastic grocery bag. These products got off to a slow start, but by the early 1980s, cheap plastic bags began to flood the market rapidly. They're lightweight, moisture-proof, bacteria-proof and sturdy - great for packing and carrying.
However, just a few decades later, the huge negative impact of the plastic bag's new function became apparent. They are so lightweight that wind and water can carry them to all corners of our planet. Their durability causes them to accumulate and persist wherever they go - suffocating natural ecosystems and wildlife.
Paper bags are heavier than plastic bags and have the disadvantage of requiring more power to transport. But their end-of-life prospects are much better aligned with the natural world. Paper bags can be easily recycled widely and are easily composted when they are no longer recyclable. They also easily decompose there if they accidentally fall into nature and waterways, posing little threat to wildlife.

The ease with which paper bags break down means they are not as durable as plastic ones. While this is a huge advantage for nature, it does give them functional limitations. They can withstand a certain amount of water, but will last longer if kept dry and will need to be cared for for maximum use. As with all products, the more they are reused, the lighter their footprint becomes. It's best to reuse paper bags as many times as possible before recycling or composting. Therefore, now through the convenient way to choose colorful paper bag wholesale, become a member of the Green environmental protection association.
